01 Bolted Staircases
Bolted staircases are highly customisable and adaptable, compatible with a vast array of
materials, balustrades and additional features. These staircases are normally supported by a
wall on one side, for which a large choice of fixing solutions exist to cater to almost any type
of wall.
All bolted staircases share one common detail - a series of vertical connecting bolts that link
the treads together. This usually avoids the need for other heavier supports. As such, these
are open and airy staircases that closely resemble the appearance of some of our floating
staircase designs.
The sides of each tread are usually left entirely exposed, allowing them to be shaped, curved
or extended to form interesting new features. This level of flexibility means bolted
staircases lend themselves brilliantly to curved staircase shapes, often resulting in beautiful
flowing designs.
